School entry

L'escolaritat no obligatòria comença a Suïssa als quatre anys, però, el que sí és obligatori és que tot nen i nena porti un reflectant posat.
T'el donen de forma gratuïta el primer dia d'escola, i aquest els acompanyarà diariament pel camí de casa al cole, i viceversa. Els parvulets de quatre anys segueixen la tradició d'anar i venir sols de l'escola, encara que hagin de travessar carreteres nacionals, amb els seus tractors, camions i punts de visibilitat reduïda. Per sort, porten un reflectant penjat al coll!
Per cert, a aquesta "tradició", no m'hi apunto.

The non-mandatory schooling starts in Switzerland at the age of four, but what is mandatory for all boys and girls, is to wear a reflector.

They give it to you for free the first day of school, and this will daily accompany the students from their way to and from the school. The little four year old kindergarteners, follow the tradition of going to school, as well as coming from school, by themselves, eventhough they may have to cross busy roads, with its trucks, tractors, and with its poor visibility in some areas. Lucky them, they are wearing a reflector down their neck!

By the way, I don't follow this "tradition".

MI CASA, ES SU CASA

Molt agradable visita la de la Sílvia i en JL. Sempre és un plaer poder compartir amb la bona gent.



Dissabte: esquí a Malbun (Liechtenstein), amb bona temperatura i solejat.




Diumenge: ennuvolat, visita a Wallenstadt i poblet del mateix nom. Després de dinar, visita passada per aigüa al Castell de Sargans, i indrets del voltant.



Dilluns: caminant sota la pluja a Buchs, dinar al menjador de BZB, amb un peu a Suïssa i l'altre a la capital del principat, Vaduz. Acabem la tarda a la cafeteria/museu més in de tota la regió, però, el cos demana quelcom calent.



Dimarts: passejada per Zurich, pel Bahnhofstrasse i les seves tendes exclusives de renom requetemundial. Catada "d'uns quants" bombons dels més suissos, café al més pur estil ianqui a Starbucks, caminada per carrers antics plens d'encant, i cap a l'aeroport.

Gràcies per la visita i per la flexibilitat d'horaris...Perdó per les dificultats d'il-luminació!


Very pleasant Sílvia's and JL visit. It is always a pleasure to be able to spend time with good people.
Saturday: skiing in Malbun (Liechtenstein), with good temperatures and sunny.
Sunday: cloudy, visiting Wallenstadt and its town. After lunch, rainy visit to Sargan's Castle, and its surroundings.
Monday: walking in the rain around Buchs, lunch at BZB, with one foot in Switzerland and the other in Vaduz, the capital of the principality. We finished the evening at the most snobby cafe/museum of the whole region, but we needed something warm.
Tuesday: walking around Zurich, up and down Bahnhofstrasse with its very exclusive shops, which sell the work of the most famous designers around the world. We had "a few" Swiss chocolate tastings, coffe in Starbucks, just like if we were in the States, walked around the old and charming narrow streets, and...time to go to the airport.

Thanks for the visit, and for being flexible with the schedule...Sorry for the lighting difficulties!

¿A on és la relació entre al Caida i Sadam Hussein?

...Quina pena de líders!

Five years later, peace has not reached Iraq. There are two main reasons that the US governement used to start bombing Iraq:

2) the so hidden weapons of mass destruction by Sadam Hussein

Five years later, and without blinking an eye, Mr. Bush dares to defend the attack to the Iraqi people. One does not need to go too far to listen to the embarrasing words of Aznar defending the war on Iraq, with his annoying and abnouxios English, a few days back on a BBC radio station.

Mr. Bush:
Where are the weapons of mass destruction?
Where is the link between Sadam Hussein and al Qaeda?

PECULIARITATS SUÏSSES / SWISS PECULIARITIES

M'agradaria començar un apartat anomenat "Peculiaritats Suïsses".

Escriuré sobre les meves impressions de la cultura suissa i les seves particularitats.

LOS SUIZOS NO SON SUCIOS / THE SUISS ARE NOT DIRTY

Neteja, neteja que netejaràs! Aquesta és una epidèmia nacional. Els suïssos ho netejan tot, inclús les vigues del les estacions ferroviàries estàn lluents.

Les sabates et truràs abans de casa de ningú entraràs. A les escoles, els nens, les nenes i els educadors han de descalçar-se, i posar-se les seves pantufles abans d'entrar a la classe.

Encara que la cantarella diu...La caca de vaca no fa pudor, riau, riau!...jo intueixo que és fruit dels temps en que els camins estàven sempre plens d'excrement de vaques, de quan anàven dels alps, o dels camps de past, de camí a les granges per resguardar-se...dic jo!

Clean, clean, and clean again! This is a national epidemic. The swiss will clean everything, even the I beams in the train stations are shiny.

Your shoes you will remove, before entering anybody's home. At school, children and teachers must remove their street shoes and put on their own slippers, before entering their classroom. Eventhough, there is a Catalan song that says...Cow poo- poo does not stink...I think this habit probably started on the old times, when pathwalks were always full of cow manure, from the cows walking towards taking shelter in the farm...who knows!
